About JQ

JQ Palms lives in New Orleans and is a prominent stand-up comedian and improviser known for her dry, witty delivery and parody ukulele songs. Her brand of comedy has been described as “stupid in a good way.” JQ was a featured standup and improv comedian for the premiere opening of Comedy House New Orleans in June 2021 and has been performing there ever since. She’s an improv teacher at the New Orleans School of Comedy Arts and she teaches stand-up comedy classes at Boomerang Comedy Theater in Baton Rouge. She also offers one-on-one comedy consulting by appointmentHer weekly podcast with comedian friend Ryan Rogers is called “Seen Partners and can be found on Apple Podcasts.

JQ has been a headlining performer at Hell Yes Fest, LGBTLOL Fest, The New Orleans’ Comedy Festival, The Bayou Boogaloo Festival, and Fete du Void

In 2019, she wrote, directed, produced, and performed her solo show titled “Smooth: A One-Woman Show in Two Acts,” and in 2022, she recorded her second “One-Woman Music-ish Comedy Show” live at Comedy House New Orleans.

In January 2021, she captained the winning team for the first season of “Roast Fantasy League,”she was a judge for Season 2, and in 2023 she was inducted into the “Roast Fantasy League Hall of Fame.”   

She is a mainstage cast member of the weekly improv comedy show called “Swamp City” and the ladies-only improv troupe “SLUMber Party.”

Since 2022, she has opened for Luke Null, Greg Fitzsimmons and Giulio Gallarotti.
